Pillar’s engagement centers (day programs) focus on choice and inclusion. Our centers have art rooms, technology rooms, social lounges, performing arts rooms, kitchens for culinary lessons, and provide scheduled outings and other opportunities to be active and engaged with the community.
Day programs are available to any participant who is 18 or older.
case management
Pillar case managers coordinate care, supports, and services, using a person-centered planning process for someone receiving a Medicaid waiver. The case manager works closely with a participant to ensure that his needs are met and that health, wellness, and safety measures are in place. This service is available to adults and school-aged children.
residences
Pillar has 17 homes that are staffed 24 hours a day. Three residents live in each home, where they have individual bedrooms and bathrooms and a shared kitchen and living area. Residents have the option to work with a direct support professional (DSP) on goals included in their person-centered plan, and DSPs support residents in completing daily tasks. The homes are integrated within the community. Residential services are available to any participant who is 18 or older.
family home providers
Pillar family home providers (FHPs) are caring, compassionate people who share their personal homes with adults with disabilities and receive compensation for the support they provide. Residents benefit from a home that feels like family, while still maintaining their independence and personal goals. FHPs are available to any participant who is 18 or older.
positive behavior supports
Pillar assists participants in building skills for community living, while behavioral interventions are delivered to reduce the significant challenges that can interfere with daily living. Positive behavior plans are based on person-centered values, which emphasize dignity and respect for the participant. In particular, these supports highlight the development of appropriate behaviors rather than just suppress undesirable ones. These supports are open to school aged children and adults.
