Apple Patch unveiled its new name at a picnic at Foxhollow Farm Sept. 16. The picnic, which also acted as a fundraiser, celebrated Apple Patch’s 30th anniversary. When looking at how the organization has evolved over the past 30 years, the board and staff decided o rename to Pillar.

“From a single group home to a system of support services, Apple Patch has undergone an incredible evolution in its first thirty years,” Leah Campbell, executive director of Pillar, said. “Though we are by no means abandoning the Apple Patch name, the shift to Pillar is both natural and necessary to highlight this evolution.”

Pillar’s residential homes will remain Apple Patch residences and the organization is creating the Apple Patch Endowment Fund.
